The chains toward the middle are half-length to create a "window" that kayakers and paddle-boarders may pass through at the correct tide. At hight tide, the piece is not very visible (except from the air, since the chains will float). At low tide, the chains hang vertically and be slack. Marine Curtain will never be the same twice and will contantly endure a re-arrangement by natural forces. I work primarily as a poet and curator. My mixed media outdoor pieces are largely conceptual, often depending on natural forces of time, erosion, and user-interface to complete their greatest meaning.
