Raindance
2012

One, becomes two, becomes three, becomes four, becomes five, the dance begins. Exploring rhythmic echoes of nature, and the power of synergy, Raindance asks the curious to create a monsoon soundscape, and the musician to add diverse instrumentation, celebrating harmony in infinite combinations. Rain is created manually via a crank, which powers a pump that transfers water from a holding tank, releasing it through a tube suspended above the sound elements. The water is then collected and returned to the holding tank, starting the process all over again. Since it’s inception, Carkeek Park has nurtured music and fellowship. Raindance continues that tradition, adding a new and continually changing musical and physical presence.

Bio:

Born making noise and transforming surroundings, I have enjoyed, and struggled with the challenges of creative pursuit. I began studying piano at five, the guitar at nine, flute at thirteen, and continued exploring any and all instruments that came my way. Joined or instigated numerous bands, including The Radio Refugees, In A Sense, and Daughters Of Joy. Recorded with a phenomenal assortment of outstanding musicians. Co- owned and operated The Black Lab Gallery and Parlour, while participating in performance art pieces, and creating and showing installations, paintings, and videos, in a number of group and solo shows.

Currently, I’m working on my second album of original music and experimenting with the dynamics of a mobile gallery in the form of Caravan - Gallery, Parlor & Roadside Attractions, a repurposed Airstream trailer and a collection of tents, canopies and unbridled optimism.
